Vacancy Fundraiser / Business Development Lead – BESE

About BESE Products

BESE Products develops biodegradable and circular products for ecosystem restoration. Our mission is to kick-start natural recovery processes in degraded habitats, helping ecosystems restore themselves while leaving nothing behind but nature. Our biobased products are made largely from waste materials and are used in marine, freshwater and coastal environments, including salt marshes, oyster reefs, mussel beds, seagrass meadows, mangroves, riverbanks and urban waterways. BESE Products is a small, ambitious and internationally active impact company. Our products have been applied in restoration projects across multiple ecosystems and countries, supported by ecological expertise, scientific research and collaboration with public authorities, NGOs, knowledge institutes and commercial partners.

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and entrepreneurial Fundraiser / Business Development Lead to help BESE-products grow its impact. In this broad role, you will identify and secure funding opportunities that enable us to scale our nature-based solutions, expand international restoration projects and strengthen our commercial and strategic partnerships. You will work closely with the BESE team to develop a fundraising strategy, build relationships with funders and investors, and translate our ecological impact, market potential and innovation story into compelling proposals and partnership opportunities.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a practical fundraising and business development strategy for BESE Products.
  • Identify relevant funding opportunities, including grants, subsidies, philanthropic funds, impact investors, corporate partnerships and innovation programmes.
  • Prepare high-quality funding applications, pitch materials, partnership proposals and investor-facing documents.
  • Build and maintain relationships with public funders, foundations, impact investors, corporates, NGOs and strategic partners.
  • Translate BESE’s ecological, climate and biodiversity impact into strong value propositions for different audiences.
  • Support the development of business cases for scaling BESE’s products and restoration projects internationally.
  • Monitor funding deadlines, eligibility criteria and reporting requirements.
  • Work with the BESE team to gather project information, budgets, impact data and technical input for proposals.

What we are looking for

  • Experience with fundraising, grant writing, business development, investor relations or partnership development.
  • Strong writing and communication skills in English; Dutch is an advantage. Ability to understand and communicate ecological, technical and commercial concepts clearly.
  • Affinity with nature restoration, biodiversity, climate adaptation, circular materials, blue economy or nature-based solutions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently in a small, fast-moving start-up environment.
  • Experience with EU funding programmes, innovation grants, impact investment or philanthropic funding is a strong plus.
  • A relevant network in sustainability, water, coastal protection, restoration ecology, impact finance or public-private partnerships is highly valued.

What we offer

  • A meaningful role in a mission-driven company working on ecosystem restoration and biodiversity recovery.
  • The opportunity to help scale innovative, biodegradable and circular products with international relevance.
  • A flexible collaboration model, depending on experience, availability and mutual fit.
  • Close collaboration with a committed team of ecologists, project managers and restoration partners.
  • Room to shape the role, build a funding pipeline and directly contribute to the growth of BESE Products.
