In Zeeland, a province in the South of the Netherlands, a 44 meter BESE-shoreline was created last May. This pilot project was set up for the Water Board Scheldestromen. At this location, problems with shoreline erosion limit growth of reed and riparian vegetation.

After the summer we came back to see if reed and other plants did grow on this shore - Yes! The first results are promising. We hope that next year, the BESE shoreline will even be greener.
